LookOut: Neat Outlook Addition
August 4th, 2004 Posted in GeneralThanks to Joel and his article complaining about LookOut being bought by Microsoft, I am proud to point you to one of the cooler little apps that I’ve seen out there.
Basically what this does for you is provides a search engine for within Outlook. For those of you who don’t archive every e-mail received over several years, this won’t be necessary for you. But for someone like me who has thousands of e-mails for the project I’ve worked on for the past two years, it’s nice to be able to search QUICKLY for a specific string, or attachment, or sender, etc. From what I’ve seen it appears to be quite powerful and very fast.
Just thought I’d make it available to all my readers

I’ve been using it since Joel pointed it out and MS brought it back. It’s nifty keen.

Well, Geof just pointed me over there to Joel’s site, so it was all new to me!

To assist with recognition of subjects, I am very prone to starting emails at work with [Project] to help people filter by project name, and I am also known for writing very specific subject titles.
I don’t know that anyone every appreciates it, though.
