Week 1 at Daycare
January 14th, 2008 Posted in Everyday life, family, updatesWith work and daycare and sleep schedules and all of that, I’ve had very little time to post. We did take photos of her first day of school! Those photos are still on the camera…. soon we will upload them!
But Phoebe’s first week of school went well. We’ve started a nighttime routine, which looks like this:
5:30 – get home from work. Eat dinner. Feed Phoebe if she needs fed. Whoever did not feed her, eats first, the other eats second.
6:30 – bath time. Rick gives her a bath, while I lay-out both her sleepy clothes for the night and her clothes for the next day.
7:00 – try to get child to sleep. Sometimes this requires another small feeding.
7:30 – 8:00-ish – Phoebe is in bed (if not earlier). Load and run dishwasher, get lunches ready for the next day. Try to stay awake until at least 9:00.
9:00 – sleep.
And that is what our evenings look like. The mornings are not much better. Needless to say, I was much looking forward to this past weekend!
We somehow made it through the entire week without a sniffle or a cough! However, Saturday, the faucet on Phoebe’s nose opened up. It appears she has likely caught her first cold. We’re dealing with snot and coughs, but no fevers, so that’s good. I went out Saturday night and immediately bought a humidifier and some baby rub for her. Unfortunately that is all I can do for now. She actually seems to be in fairly good spirits. Just full of snot!
No other major hiccups the first week of daycare. I’ve checked in on her randomly a couple of times and she seems to be doing just fine. She seems to be napping and eating well for them, so that’s a plus. She is sleeping well at night for us, which is definitely a plus. Not much else to report on!

Sweetheart,it will be a never ending thing for the next 18 years. I know why God wanted young people to have babies. I have been wondering myself to death about her first week at daycare. Happy she did good. But, now I am waiting on the pictures. Love yall Mamaw

Heh, the first cold thing happened the first week of daycare for us as well. Emily would get over a cold and then catch another one within two weeks. We had a bit of a dry spell (pun intended), but the faucet has opened back up now that winter is in full swing.

Daycare or not, Lucky gets colds like their going out of style! This is his third, and he’s eight and a half months old.
