No More Glasses
December 10th, 2006 Posted in GeneralIt’s on.
I went in this past week and had an evaluation done for laser surgery. I am a candidate and am also scheduled for my CustomVue Lasik surgery on January 18th. This is timed so that I can use my company’s flex spending account to the fullest.
I’ve really been interested in doing this for a while. I finally have gotten going to get it done.
The evaluation took a couple of hours. It was essentially the most thorough eye exam that I’ve ever had. They apparently used the computer scanner to map my eye. After doing this, they confirm that mapping through a traditional eye exam (as in which is better, 1 or 2… 3 or 4) The looked at some other things with respect to the surgery (one being the thickness of the cornea).
One thing that was weird is that the doctor numbed my eyes to check to see how I responded to the numbing agent and to check the surface of my eye to make sure it was in good shape. He was poking at my eye and I really couldn’t tell (it was really weird).
So between now and the 18th, all I have to do is wait and then start using some eye drops after the new year. After the 18th, I’ll make sure to include how the surgery went and what all was involved with it.
I know that there a lot of people curious about this, so feel free to ask questions on here, or in person. I’m ok sharing information on the finances of it, but I’d rather not post it here.
So everyone wish me the best on this!

Good luck with that Rick. I have played with getting it done myself, but anything associated with my eyes pretty much freaks me out. Let me know how it goes for you.

My mom had lasik done. Here are my tips. Put the Valum under your tongue (works quicker,) follow their directions to the “T”, the more eye drops the merrier, sleep with your goggles on (you do not want a wrinkle like my neighbor, or a fold,) no rubbing!!!!! (hence the goggles at night,) and take it very easy for several days afterwards to help you heal. I think that about covers it. Any questions give me a call!

Some how our site lost the post-authors again. This one was actually done by Rick, but I’m sure he’d appreciate your tips!

Y’know, Jonathan, I’m the same way, and I have perfect vision. [Or had.]
Rick, make a copy of the default theme, activate it, and make your changes there. If you’re editing the default theme, it gets overwritten with every upgrade.
